Baghead clip, Final version…

For the forth and last of my major category video clips i have chosen to go down a more intense and abstract route. The visuals themselves hold a slightly religious undertone, having the main subject within the video having their arms outstretched to represent jesus on the cross. It is my belief that by turning a pure and generally good entity such as christ into a more unsettling image will create an extra feeling of unease within the user(s). See below…

This is the last lot lot of raw footage that i had to reshoot this evening as the last batch was a little shaky and i also wanted a full body shot. (see below).

Minor Clip 1

This is the final version of the first minor clip or attention grabbing clip. Designed to be short and not to intense just so to grab the attention of the user. These clips will be triggered at a further distance from the mirror as apposed to the longer more intense clips.

Final Version of “Body” Clip!

Here is the final version of the clip i have called “Body”. This clip is a little more graphic than the last ones and have based it around certain aspects of the human body, Hand, Mouth and Eye. I wanted the eye and mouth to cause unease by creating an extreme close-up, therefor alienating them from the normal point of view. Also the way they are portrayed is to emulate death (or dying), the positioning of the eye upward and the lips pulled open too create the effect of acute decomposition. The hand also has this decaying effect by using a textured overlay and is the final “JUMP” of this particular clip.

See below, my latest footage in it’s rawest format. Now its time to post produce….again!…

Final version of the “Faceless Ghoul” clip.

See below the second clip in the series of more intense visuals, the “Faceless Ghoul”. For this clip, i pulled inspiration from places like Silent Hill, Resident Evil and The Japanese version of The Ring. I wanted the visuals to feel very unnatural and awkward in the movement yet still resembling a human form.

Final Version Of The first Clip

Very similar to the last version with a few tweaks, a bit more suspense has been added and the sounds shuffled very slightly.

I have also stopped the gradual enlargement of the kid image to a more sudden and jumpy transition.

Refined post production test with sound

Still needs some tweaks but getting there, i wanted to use a contradiction in visuals and sound. with the gentle sound of kids playing mixed with harsh horror-esk visuals. P.S. All my visuals are sideways as i will projecting in portrait.

Some post production tests.

Obviously there is still a lot to do with this piece of footage, but this is the sort of styling that I’m going for. Pulling inspiration from places like “House on Haunted Hill”, “The Ring” and “Freighters”.

Shark Reef Interactive Projection Las Vegas

During my recent trip to Las Vegas I came across this nifty little interactive wall promoting Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef.
Although i am moving away from this kind of interaction now, i thought it would be a good demonstration on how my mirror could be applied. In wide open public spaces to promote, movies, events or other similar installations. The comapany that created this particular piece is a London/Orlando based multimedia company called MonsterMedia that do a variety of projection based interactive displays! SEE BELOW—-
