as a little added bonus to my site i put in a little email comment form using flash and php, basically so people can fill it out then it sends what they have written to my email. the nice thing about this particular form is that when i reply to these emails, it gets sent to the commenters email….NICE!!

At the beginning of my project i was hoping to achieve quite an ambitious amount and on reflection i was going to throw in a lot of crap that didnt really belong in my site. things like paypal and chat windows are not neccicary when a phone, an email and a bank account is all you need! the only thing that would have been useful would have been the shared browser window, and after a LOT of looking around the only thing that came close was a remote desktop.
now this is all very good and well but i do not want clients accessing my computer at all, the idea was to upload my updated work into a seperate browser frame and then the client would see my mouse navigating the site in front of them. there was just nothing around and in the end i had to abandon the idea.
taking all these points into account, i decided that a simple one click install (from my dreamhost account) wordpress blog would be more than sufficient as i could have each client under a different caragorie and set up a client login on my index page to direct them to the relevent work. the login system i used was a very simple little flash movie that i could set up as many different logins as i wanted, each pointing to a different wordpress catagorie page.
the benifits of using wordpress is that i can upload anything i wanted and then the client can leave commentrs under each individulal piece of work. i then set up the security on the pages so that no search engine spiders could find the pages. i then edited the css of the blog and then that was that…..

i really struggled to get the featured work flash banner to fit in with each individul style sheet. i first tried to put in simple block colours which rolled over to low opacity images, but it looked horrible. in the end i went for a badger news reader to keep within the theme and set window mode to transparent as to not box things off to much…i think it works well….

i have recently completed all 5 of my stylesheets for sneakybadger.com, i have a sunrise, morning, afternoon, evening and night style and have used a javascripts get time funcion to assign each style to the correct time of day. although it has no real practical use, i belive to promote a webdesign company u need to have such gimmicks to show a greater understanding of what u doto the general public…”wow factor” if u must…..HERE is a link to the night style (some of the css isnt in use as of yet).
ps..HERE is where i found the code.
