See below, a collection of the footage that i intend to incorporate into the interactive mirror (or “haunted mirror”).  This footage is still in it’s rawest of formats, but it will give an idea of the angle that i’m going down. See next post for my first post production tests.

New Limitations and changes.

There have been a few changes since my last post. The first is down to time and this has dramatically changed my final “product”. Due to a few hiccups within the AIB ordering process and a slow build due to the busyness of the work shop i have only just managed to get together the first “mirror panel” of my rig. This has delayed the initial testing process dramatically and has now hindered me in such a way that i will now not be able to use the sandwich technique, there just is not enough time before the final critique.

There are also several problems with the existing rig itself, one being the transfuser. My first option was to use tracing paper, i searched high and low but could not find a single sheet big enough, so in the end i had to use two sheets, this unfortunately left a small but very noticeable gap down the middle once projected upon.My second and current option is by using a shower curtain, this is big enough but the creases on it are quite bad and will need to be carefully ironed out.

My final problem is with the projector throw and am going to have to find a space suitable to show the final piece. My only option now is to use a single mirrored panel to be activated “by suprise” by either motion tracking or a floor sensor panel.
