VideoTrace: Rapid interactive scene modelling from video

VideoTrace is a system for interactively generating realistic 3D models of objects from video—models that might be inserted into a video game, a simulation environment, or another video sequence. The user interacts with VideoTrace by tracing the shape of the object to be modelled over one or more frames of the video. By interpreting the sketch drawn by the user in light of 3D information obtained from computer vision techniques, a small number of simple 2D interactions can be used to generate a realistic 3D model. Each of the sketching operations in VideoTrace provides an intuitive and powerful means of modelling shape from video, and executes quickly enough to be used interactively. Immediate feedback allows the user to model rapidly those parts of the scene which are of interest and to the level of detail required. The combination of automated and manual reconstruction allows VideoTrace to model parts of the scene not visible, and to succeed in cases where purely automated approaches would fail.

If streaming the live content of said football match/sporting event is to much for current data shifting techniques then we could possibly have the fall back option of having only the highlights of the event sliceable and available at the end of the event (maybe an option of 10 highlights??).This would give the servers and streams plenty of time to be transmitted and recieved to avoid lagging situations.

HERE is the next step to our flash prototype, it has a zoom in function which happens on an OnMouseDown event and a zoom out function on an OnMouseUp function.this would later be controlled be the handpiece that will have the Wii technology inside it.

bubbl.us – free web application for brainstorming online

Mind-Mapping or Brainstorming, whatever you prefer to call it is an extremely useful thing to do before a project ( I have found the lack of which makes for a very confusing project! on several occasions)

This software is completely web based software that allows you to collaborate with others and even embed into your own websites, looks like another invaluable tool the latest wave of web based apps are providing

I shall be using and abusing this on every project from now on!

This was the first attempt at the timeslice effect in flash. It didn’t work quite right, think there is a few bugs in the code. here

This is the second attempt, I think this is much better, I’ve sorted the bugs in the code and now it works smoothly. I think it could still use a little tweaking, and there is still a possible bug but I should be able to sort that out. here

he longest recorded piece of graffiti was painted by a student in the toilets of his college at Changsha, China in 1915. It consisted of over 4000 characters criticising his teachers and the state of Chinese society.

After completing this masterpiece the student handed himself in and was paraded in front of the school and threatened with expulsion. The student was a 22 year old Chairman Mao Zedong. A graffiti artist who later founded the People’s Republic of China and was responsible for the deaths of over 30 million people.
